Storyboard Tekst
Look, it's the mute girl.
Who was it, daddy?
Did you hear about the new girl? She's gone.
Marlee is afraid to speak in front of people she doesn't know. As a result, kids often call her "mute", which upsets her and makes her feel bad.
Marlee and her family are getting threatening phone calls because they are "integrationists". This is scary to Marlee, but she wants to continue doing what she believes is right.
Marlee's Challenges
Marlee struggles a great deal with the fact that Liz had to leave school because she wasn't white. She doesn't understand why some people care so much about skin color.
