- Long time ago, when the Chamorros first came to Guam, they were called taotaomo’nas.

- During that time a group of fishermen who fished in Hagåtña Bay noticed that the mouth of the bay was growing larger and larger quite quickly. They could not understand what was causing it to grow.

- Then a group of fisher men from Pago had noticed that Pago Bay has been growing bigger, and it seemed that the center of the island was being eaten away.

- The people could no longer ignore the land between Pago Bay and Hagta was becoming narrower. They realized that if this continued, the island would soon become a two separate territory. After analyzing their observations, everyone agreed that something had got to be done. Unfortunately, they didn't know what exactly to do next.
- A few days later, a Pago fishing boater came across a massive fish while he was out fishing. He was not expecting to see it, especially since it was eating big chunks of land.A few days later, the fishermen saw a giant fish devouring the land in Pago Bay. The people were outraged and vowed to kill it. The fisherman ran to tell everyone about the giant fish that he had seen chewing away at the land in Pago Bay. When they heard his account, the people were outraged and vowed to fend off the giant fish. Early the next morning all the strong men of Guahan gathered with their weapons and started out on their mission.
- A young girl in Pago Bay was once puzzled by the appearance of the giant fish's peels. She then learned that the fish most likely ate a hole beneath the island.The group then went to the Hagta Springs to watch the giant fish. They decided to catch it themselves by creating a net using their long black hair. The women then gathered at the Hagta Springs. They were amused by the men who tried to catch the fish. They then decided to catch it themselves. They soon caugh it and saved Guahan!
