- You are not going to believe this story. But it is a true story. I will die in the morning.
- I married when I was very young and my wife and I love cats.We adopted a cat named Pluto. He was black, black all over, and very intelligent.
- But during those years I was slowly changing. It was that evil enemy of Man called Drink. I started to get angry about unimportant things.
- I started using bad language with my wife and sometimes I hit her. I also hit our animals but never Pluto.

- That night I came home late, full of drink again. I saw Pluto and hugged him tightly. He was afraid of me and he bit my hand.
- I got really mad. I took out my pocket knife, held the poor animal by its neck and cut out one of its eyes.

- I had bad thoughts again and I can't stop myself. I left the house and went to a river. I caught the cat and hung him by his neck from a tree until he was dead.
- The next morning, my mind was full of pain and horror when I woke up. Pluto never got too close to me now and he ran away when I got close to him.

- That night I woke up suddenly because the bed was on fire. I heard people from outside yelling "Fire! Fire!"My wife, our servant and I escaped. We stood and watched the house burn to the ground.
- There was nothing left of the house the next morning. All the walls collapsed except for one wall in the middle of the house.
- I was surprised to see a crowd of people along the wall. I saw a black shape in the new white plaster. It was shaped like a large cat, hanging from his neck.
