- George Washgington wanted the Britsh to stop attacking US ships but they wouldn't stop. So George Washgington signed a treaty. Then the French started attacking US ships.

- No more war!
- Tripoli and other Barbary Pirates wanted tribute from the US but Thomas Jefferson didn't want to pay. So Tripoli declared war on US then they signed a peace treaty and Tripoli stopped asking for tribute.
- Latin American Revolutions
- We need help!
- United States wanted France and Britain to leave US ships alone but France and Britain didn't stop. So Thomas Jefferson prometed the Embargo Act. Then Britain kept attacking.
- Monroe Doctrine
- No more war!!
- United States wanted British to stop attacking US ships and to stop impressing sailors. But the US was trading with France so James Madison declared war. Then British stopped attacking ships and France and Britain stopped fighting.
- Latin Americans wanted their land but the Spanish fought for it. So American supported the Latin then the Latin's won their land back.

- Monroe wanted Eurpoean colonization to not be open but Europeans denounced his message as arrogant. So Americans cheered Monroes message. Then the Monroe Doctrine joined islationism and asserted that the US would accept European interference.
