- ALL FAIR IS FOUL, AND FOUL IS FAIR HOVER THROUGH tHE FOG AND FILTHY AIR!
- The play begins with three witches planning to meet Macbeth.
- A rebellion has just been defeated and King Duncan has been told that Macbeth is a great hero.
- Try to be a man!
- Macbeth and Banquo meet the witches and make three prophecies. 1: Macbeth will become Thane of Cawdor 2: He will become king 3: Banquo's descendants will be kings.
- Macbeth sends a letter to his wife (Lady Macbeth) telling her the witches' prophecies. She becomes ambitious and decides to make sure the Macbeth becomes king.
- King Duncan says at Macbeth's castle. Macbeth debates on whether he should kill King Duncan and his wife tells him to be a man.
- On his way to King Duncan's room he sees a dagger which encourages him to commit the murder.
