Storyboard Tekst

  • EXPOSITION
  • My name is Squeaky. I am the neighborhood's fastest runner. I have nothing to do but look after my older brother.
  • INCITING INCIDENT
  • What grade you in now, Raymond?
  • You got anything to say to my brother, you say it to me, Mary Louise William Of Raggedy Town, Baltimore.
  • RISING ACTION
  • I wonder what Gretchen is up to? she's not around.
  • Squeaky is a teen girl who lives in New York City and is passionate about racing. She is responsible for taking care of her disabled older brother Raymond. Squeaky is fiercely protective of her brother, and she must keep an eye on Raymond as she prepares for her forthcoming race.
  • CLIMAX
  • OMG! Raymond is running, but i can't stop! I have to complete the race and stop getting distracted
  • Gretchen, Mary-Louise, and Rosie stopped on Broadway and made fun of Squeaky and Raymond, who were passing by. Gretchen and her sidekicks immediately began tormenting Raymond and creating a conflict, but Squeaky sticks up for her brother and makes them stop. Squeaky knows that she has to behave this way because of the situation of her poor family however she doesn't want anyone to know that she is affected by this. So she acts tough and protects her brother so no one even can even think about her being poor.
  • FALLING ACTION
  • In first place - Miss Hazel Elizabeth Deborah Parker. In second place - Miss Gretchen P. Lewis
  • Raymond would make a very fine runner. Doesn't he keep up with me on my trots?
  • The May Day race was about to begin, and Squeaky was on the lookout for Gretchen to see if she is prepared to lose. Squeaky was growing apprehensive as the race began, but she knew she was going to win, and this thinking may help her win.
  • RESOLUTION
  • Gretchen's good, no doubt about it. Maybe she'd like to help me coach Raymond
  • While the race was going on, Raymond began running with Squeaky, and she realized that her brother was paying attention to her tricks for races while she was practicing and taking care for Raymond. Squeaky was amazed and she almost stopped but she didn't want to do that because then her race would be interrupted and she might not win if she stops.
  • After the race, Squeaky reflected on how good of a runner Raymond is and how he always keeps up with her in race practices. The people on the loudspeaker had gathered, compared notes, and announced that Squeaky had won the May Day race.
  • Squeaky is maturing because she now sees Gretchen differently because they both smiled to congratulate and show respect for each other. She is also thinking about someone else besides herself, such as Raymond, because she wants to coach him and hopes to make him a champion one day. The lesson we took away from this story is to accept yourself for who you are, as well as others for who they are. This is because Squeaky was born into a poor black family, but she never let that define her, and she was always true to herself. Raymond is disabled, and he has received rude comments from the people around him; however, this should not occur because those people should accept Raymond as he is rather than saying impolite things.
