- My name is Richard and this is Robert. We work for the NWC and we are about to set out to Fort William to trade the furs we have collected as Voyageurs in a York Boat.
- The woman prepared pelts by scrapping off the flesh, rubbing the pelt with the animals brain, smoking it over an open fire and soaking it in warm water. Then they worked on the pelts until they were soft.
- Bye, stay safe and have a good journey!
- While the men were gone trading in the summer the woman would take over.
- They worked on the road by paddling canoes and working in the camps.
- Woman worked in the forts by making moccasins and clothing, collecting materials to make canoes, weaving fishing nets and snowshoes, and collecting birch bark and food.
