LIFE IN THE MINING CAMPS
People kept getting sick and kept catching colds from sleeping on the damp ground. Most of the camps and mining towns were tents or wooden buildings which fires were often common. The mining camps would often be called "boomtowns." People we're getting hurt and there were no police to stop them or say anything . It was also hard to find gold because every mostly toke it or you would be killed for it.
