Storyboard Tekst

  • Polar bears and brown bears both come from a common ancestor. As time went on and bears migrated up to the colder environments, bears with white fur mutations will live longer because of natural selection.
  • A part of natural selection is competition. All species on Earth will compete with one another for food, and mutations are important to provide advantages over competitors
  • The white bears will be more likely to catch food because they have white fur and can blend in with their environment, ambushing their prey, while the brown bears stand out against the landscape, giving their prey time to run away from them.
  • Hundreds of years later, the brown bear populations in this environment will thin out, and the brown fur gene will become less and less common among the white polar bears.
  • The brown bears will slowly die out because of the lack of food, until there is only white polar bears left in the cold environments such as the Arctic.
  • However, the brown bear populations in forests and similar habitats will prosper as they can blend in with the environment with their brown fur.;
