Act One Scene One
You living the fast life...wanna be a musician...running around in them clubs and things...then, you learn to take care of yourself.
I ain't asked you to give me nothing. I asked you to loan me 10 dollars. I know you got ten dollars.
Act One Scene Two
If my brother didn't have that metal plate in his head...I wouldn't have a pot to piss in or a window to throw it out of.
You done what was right by him. Can't nobody say you ain't done what was right by him. Look how long you took care of him.
Act One Scene Three

While you thinking about a TV, I got to be thinking about the roof...and whatever else go wrong around here.
Troy is disappointed in Cory because instead of finding a real job he chose to be a musician who plays in clubs.
He had to give up privacy of his whole life to take care of Gabriel when he lost half his head in war.
Instead of buying a TV to make everyone happy, he has to worry about keeping the house intact so they won't worry about any problems.
