  • Are you ready to get pizza now?
  • I kind of want sushi now
  • We came all this way for pizza and now you want sushi!!
  • You know what, NO, Im done with you, you would be lucky to get a crumb!!
  • In this situation, the businessman and the friend were hungry and had decided to eat pizza. They had been working all day and were stressed and tired. Once they arrived at the restaurant the friend had changed his mind and wanted sushi.
  • This is an example of non-negation. This situation went wrong because Lachy couldn’t decide what he wanted, but because Ryley was impatient and didn’t let him talk, Ryley got angry and didn’t buy him anything.Situations like this can happen all the time, so it’s important you know how to diffuse this situation. This situation could have been easily avoided if Ryley was more patient, he should have let Lachy say his part. On the other hand, brconflict.Now let’s take a look at an example of good conflict management.
  • In response to the friends sudden change of mind, the businessman got aggravated and yelled and the friend. This started conflict between the friend and the businessman leading to an argument. In the situation the business man should have been more patient and the friend should have just agreed.
  • Are you ready to get pizza now?
  • Ok lets get pizza.
  • Through the conflict, the businessman began unloading unto the friend pent up with all of the stress from work whilst the friend was in shock and confused with the sudden anger. The businessman should have not taken out his stress on the friend and the friend should have been less picky.
  • I will also buy you a drink.
  • Ok thank you.
  • Then the narrator came into the scene and began explaining as to why the situation had become a conflict. The businessman was angry at the friend for changing his mind and should have been more patient and let the friend explain his side of the story. On the other hand the friend should have decided beforehand and not been as picky.
  • The situation restarts and this time when the businessman proposes pizza the friend agrees avoiding conflict. The friend was less picky and just went with whatever. The businessman was more patient and was satisfied with the friend's answer.
  • Since the businessman was now in a good mood he offered to buy the friend a drink. In the second situation the friend was a lot more aware of the businessman's mood. The businessman decided to be a lot more patient with the friend in the second situation leading to a better result.
