- Did you hear that?
- Yes! I heard it AND saw that big flash of light! Wonder what that was??
- Thats strange. Why would the power go off?
- Honey the power went off!
- Everyone on the street has been complaining of the same thing. No power!
- What do you mean? Who doesn't?
- Why not?
- It's always that way. In every story I've read about a ship landing from outerspace!
- Because they don't want you to leave. Thats why they shut everything off!
- Steve you better not
- Steve and his neighbor chat in Steves driveway when suddenly they hear a loud roar and a big flash of light.
- The people they sent down ahead of time. They look just like humans! They send people to prepare for the landing. They sent a mother and father and 2 children. They look like humans, but they're not!
- Steves wife comes out onto the porch to tell him their power went off. Another neighbor from down the street tells Steve everyone on Maple Street is without power.
- It's YOU! You work on that radio in your basement all night long!
- It's HIM!
- He didn't even care to come out and look when the noise came by!
- No, I'm not an alien!
- Steve decides to go to the police station to see what was going on. Until a young boy tells him its not a good idea.
- And this pattern is always the same?
- See! You just stop a few of their machines and radios and such and let them be in the darkness. Watch their patterns.
- Usually. They pick the most dangerous enemy they can find. And it's themselves. We just sit back and watch.
- The young boy tells the neighbors what happens in the stories he's read. He tells that nobody can leave the town unless they are aliens sent down ahead of time.
- The people on Maple Street are so fearful they start blaming one another of being the aliens sent from outerspace. They keep fighting with each other.
- It could be any of you!
- The aliens sit on the outside of town and watch the people attack each other. Proving that they are their own enemies.
