- Donnie and his husband Adam are back home for the holidays. As little bickering over a dietary plan they have pursued in the night, their conversation hints at a concern for Dotty's health, which Donnie doesn't open up about. The couple are standing center stage, Donnie sitting, while Adam is standing.
- Dotty walks into the kitchen s.r. in the middle of the night, interrupting Donnie and Adam's playful back and forth, joining in on their night.
- Donnie crosses u.s.c rummages through the cabinets in a disoriented manner to look for an item as Donnie tries to figure out what's going on with her.
- After finding out Shelly has been giving Dotty sleeping medication more frequently than agreed upon, he shouts through the house to get her to come to the kitchen. Angrily, Shelly walks into the kitchen bickering about the noise and the disarray of items all over the counter. Donnie presses Shelly about the decisions she's made regarding Dotty, while Adam is still pressing Donnie about their dietry plan.
- Dotty playfully grabs Donnie so Adam can have a chance to kiss him to figure out what he ate based on the taste of Donnie's lips. Shelly cds still frustratingly tries to set things in order.
- After Shelly tells Dotty that she bought the tree that she wanted, she and Adam leave the kitchen to the living room, where Dotty has the grand idea to start decorating in the middle of the night, which Adam entertains. While that happens off-screen, Donnie and Shelly have a back-and-forth on the frustration each of them shares about Dotty and what is/is not being done. It closes off with them both agreeing to table the discussion for the morning.
