- every year one boy and one girl from the eat area are chosen to take a part in a battle to the dead known as The Hunger Games. The names of the competitors are about to be chosen.
- 12 year old Prim Is chosen.
- Prim's sister is in the crowed. As Prim walks up. Katniss she sees that Prim's is up tucked katniss realises Prim is so young That she wont survive The Hunger Games.
- Katniss runs forwords and volunteers to take Prim's place
- Everyone is shocked to see a volunteer
