- A simple call is all it takes for a teen like Eric to get distracted
- Yeah Mom. I'll be there in a short while.
- Distracting driving can affect a lot of people. Most in a harmful way. The CDC found that 9 people die and 1060 people get injured everyday, due to distracted drivers.
- While distracted, Eric is putting himself, pedestrians, and other animals at risk of unintentional injuries, some fatal.
- And with one being distracted while driving...
- Did you know, the average person looking away while driving is about 5 seconds?!
- New Message from Dad:
- Put your phone out of reach and out of mind.
- STOP DISTRACTED DRIVING:
- Put your phone on silent while driving
- If you have to, ask your passengers to quiet down
- Power your phone off
- It's true. The average person looking away from the road is about 5 seconds. Driving at 55 mph, you would cover the distance of a football field in 5 seconds.
