- In this scene, we meet the two main characters, and set up the conflict between Frederick Douglass and the evil slave breaker, Covey.
- Climax
- I've been wanting to do this forever!
- In this scene, Covey learns that Douglass is tired and sick but he has no remorse. He results in kicking and screaming at Douglass.
- Resolution
- I'm so proud of myself!!!!!
- Douglass returns to Covey but doesn’t want to get caught, so he hides in the woods.
- Douglass returns to work, Covey sees Douglass and knows that now is the time to punish him for escaping. They fight for a very long time. Covey realizes that Douglass is strong. Douglass wins the fight.
- C'mon, SLAVE! Show me what you got!!!!
- Douglass gets a moral victory and gains back his confidence.
