Siddhartha was born in the 500 BCE in Nepal (India). He grew up as a wealthy Hindu prince, and had all the luxuries he desired. His father was a king and he wanted Siddhartha to be a king as well.

Siddhartha’s father shielded him from everything unpleasant because he wanted Siddhartha to be a king and not a holy man(Spiritual leader). A fortune teller told his father that Siddhartha could take either of the paths. As a result, Siddhartha was hidden from the truth and never saw suffering… poor, sad, or sick people.
The four people that Siddhartha saw when he left his palace were an old, bent, toothless man leaning on a stick. The second person was a shrunken man by a disease. The third man was a dead man and the fourth person was a holy man.

Siddartha began his search for the truth by cutting his hair and trading his rich clothing for the simple robe of a religious seeker. His experience with the Hindu gurus and ascetics was that he practiced self denial with the gurus and ascetics.
Siddhartha reached enlightenment and became the Buddha by him meditating under a fig tree for 49 days and nights. After this he found enlightenment.
After Siddhartha reached enlightenment, he went around India sharing his message for 45 years. He trained some people to be teachers and religious leaders
