Oh my! I'm never going to get all this work done by the end of the week!
Tuesday...
One Week Earlier...
Hi, my name is James Brown. I used to work at TD Bank before I quit my job. This is the story of how I ended up here...
Friday back at work...
Bad news James...Nitti up and quit. You have to take on his position until we find a replacement.
Sir...I'm already under so much stress. I can't do that
Too bad James. This is not my problem. I'm the boss and what I say goes!
But... I...
The First stage of low Job Satisfaction: High stress levels, poor working conditions/management
Third stage of low Job Satisfaction: Turnover (leaving one's job)
No buts! Figure it out James. I need to get back to relaxing!
Oh God! What am I going to do? Can't we divide the work?
God I hate this job. I need a break! I hate my boss!
Later That Night...
I can't sleep I feel too stressed, overwhelmed, and mentally drained
Oh my goodness! He gave me even more work! I can't take this anymore!!!
No! It's too stressful, I need a break. I hate my job and my boss!
No! It's fine, I don't need to call in.
Honey, shouldn't you be going back to work? You've been off 2 days now.
Oh I see. Have you called in to let them know?
The Second Stage of low Job Satisfaction: Absenteeism (not showing up for work)
I think I'm just going to "call in sick".
I don't want to go into work today. It's too much stress.
Thursday...
I still can't stop thinking about all of the work I need to get done. The deadline is tomorrow!
I'm going into his office right now to talk about this! I am fed up with this treatment, this job and him!
Sir! Why did you assign me more work?!
I have been treated so unfairly in this work environment. I'm overworked and overstressed which is why I stayed home. You have poor management skills and I have yet to be recognized for all of my hard work!
I am done with this place! I QUIT!
All you ever do is complain. I am a great boss and I treat you amazingly. You should be thanking me!
Well you haven't shown up for work and I am the boss. You do as I say!
Wow James, so nice of you to show up.
There are many supporting factors to employee job satisfaction as shown above. Some of these include: - management styles- working environments- increase/decrease in stress levels- Workload - Colleagues
Overall, I am extremely satisfied with my new job and that's the most important aspect of any business!
So that's the story of how I ended up here, working at RBC Bank! I realized through my experiences that it is important to be working in a safe and positive environment in order for employees to feel satisfied in their position!
At my old job I was treated poorly, overstressed, and had poor management. My new job/boss ensures:- We are stressed "just enough" - We don't burnout - Gives us breaks when needed- Division of work- Safe work environment
