  • Now we will learn everything about Modal verbs. They are used along with a main verb to indicate ability, necessity, possibility, and permission. In sentences containing modal verbs, the main verb takes the infinitive form. They come before the main verb and they never change

  • Now, we will see their function and structure. The structure in affirmative sentences: P + Modal verb + V + C. In negative sentences: P + Modal verb + not + V + C. Interrogative sentences: Modal verb + P + V + C?. And in wh questions: Wh + Modal verb + V + C?
