  • One week after the school year started .. The Grade 3- Marigold is happy to start the class.

  • Good Morning Grade 3- Marigold!
  • Ms. Santos enters the classroom from the back door. The class happily greeted her.
  • From the moment Ms. Santos started speaking, Kevin one of her student keeps on transferring from one seat to another to annoy his classmates. She noticed this behavior from the first day of school.
  • Before we start our lesson, may you please recite the class we have agreed on the first day of class?
  • Kevin seemed to have forgotten the rules because he continuously committed the behavior for the past few days.

  • Mrs. Santos decided to use the eight systematic steps in improving behavior of the students inside the classroom. She started by identifying the problem behavior which is transferring seats that is against the seating arrangement
  • Very good Tanya, one of our rules is no transferring of seats since I already arranged alphabetically.#160;
  • Mrs. Santos then measured the problem behavior through frequencies. She counted the number of times Kevin will transfer to another seat during the discussion of every subject within the day. According to her journal, Kevin will most likely stand up and occupy available seats beside his classmates 3-4 times per subject.
