  • Eminaband
  • I'm not going; I do not belong to a caste.
  • Malik Bhago is holding a feast tonight!!!
  • Everyone is equal. I do not belong to a specific caste.
  • Why didn't you come to the feast?
  • Guru Nanak and Bhai Mardana arrived at a town called Eminabad. They stayed in the house of Bhai Lalo, a carpenter.
  • Come join us for food!
  • UHMMMMM.... Ok.....
  • Malik Bhago was a local rich man, and arranged a feast and invited Hindus of all the four castes. Guru Nanak was told by someone about the feast, but refused to go, saying that he did not belong to any caste.
  • After the feast, Malik Bhago ordered Gurun Nanak to come to his house. When Nanak had arrived, Malik Bhago asked why Nanak had not come. Nanak answered saying that as he was a religious man, he was not looking for luxurious food.
  • The meaning to this is......
  • Guru Nank then said that if it pleased Malik Bhago, he could sit down and eat with them. Malik Bhago was not very happy that Nanak preferred to be with the low-caste, Bhai Lalo, but still went anyway.
  • At their house, Guru Nank took Bhai Lalo's chapatti, made of coarse meal, and Malik Bhago's, made of the finest flour. He squeezed them both.
  • From Bhai Lalo's chapatti came milk, whilst Malik Bhago's chapatti had BLOOD pouring out of it. The meaning of this is that Bhai Lalo had got his food through honest and hard work, whilst Malik Bhago got his by bribery and oppression.
