Storyboard Tekst

  • Winston is walking home with a very neutral expression. The though police are watching over the city symbolized in the helicopter over head. He is coming from work where he did his job well, but he is contemplating an article that he had to edit today.
  • On his way home he passes by a parole that is sleepign in the street. This shows the poor condition the government treats the paroles. The telescreen is the sign of distrust by that government. You never know if you are being watched by it or not.
  • Winston then walks past the government building that is inscribed with the three truths of the party. War is peace, freedom is slavery, ignorance is strength. These statements are completely contrary to reality but yet reflect how upside down this reality is. It also show how the party can hold so many people that can reconcile "doublethink" in their lives.

  • Winston gets home and can finally relax. At least a little. There is still a telescreen in the room that anyone at any time could be listening to. The fear of the thought police is real and unmistakable. Nobody wants to be on the wrong side of such a big organization. However Winston has some stuff on his mind, so he grabs out his secret journal to write out what he is thinking.
