- 1. I wake up very early in the morning and start my extremely long journey to the pond. It's eight hours long! My mom, my little sister Akeer and my baby brother always say goodbye to me at the front door before I go.
- 2. The walk to the pod is really tiring and it's also so hot outside that you wish you could just jump into the pond when you get there, but no, you can't since the water has to be clean so that you can drink it later.
- 3. Water. This is something which isn't easy to get around here. If you want it, you have got to earn it first. I put some in my bowl and always drink some myself. I mean, come on! No one can resist a sip of water after walking for hours to get it, right?
- 4. Then I have to walk back home with the water. This is my least favorite part of the journey because I am exhausted and also have to carry more weight on my head.
- 5. Finally I arrive back at home with my mom, my sister and my brother waiting for me. This is hen I can finally sit down somewhere and relax, knowing that I will have to go back in the afternoon.
- 6. My mom pours all the water into a big jug and my siblings and I get to have some first. And that's how I do it!
