- After a troublesome night of rest, Ralph woke up with a disturbing thought in his mind. He has thought of a plan that might unite both groups and save the boys. Ralph realized that he does not actually need Jack but instead, he just needs the choir boys to be hunters. Knowing the choir boys are very obedient and loyal, Ralph believes if Jack were to somehow disappear then they would have no other choice but to listen to him. This would make Ralph the leader of all the boys and he would finally be able to lead them correctly with no distractions.
- It was the beast! In order to survive you must listen to me!
- In his head, Ralph knew what he had to do to lead these boys but he didn't know if he had the courage to do it. He knows Jack is a corrupt leader and that the boys will be better off if they all follow him. He also fears that Jack might take over both groups and Ralph might no longer have a chance to lead. Ralph struggled with this thought and almost decided to bail on his idea but then he remembered his father. He promised his father that he will be a leader and that he will help these boys survive. He must complete this task in honor of his family and prove to himself that he can do whatever it takes to be a leader.
- That night Ralph crept his way into Jack's sleeping space with determination. He saw Jack sleeping softly on the sand and approached him quietly. Ralph raised his spear into the air and in an instant impaled Jack through his stomach. Jack flinched only for a moment before silently going back to an endless rest. Ralph removed the spear and lifted Jack's lifeless body to the near ocean and placed his body into the current. He watched as Jack drifted away just like how his problems are now drifting away. Ralph finally did it. He made his father proud and can be the leader he was always meant to be.
- The boys on the island woke up to a disturbing sight. The sand where Jack slept was painted in blood. The boy began the panic and soon boys from both groups were huddled around Jack's sleeping space. Ralph then arrived with the conch in his hand and made an important announcement to the boys. "Jack is gone. There is only one thing that could have taken him. It must have been the beast! The only way that we are going to survive now is if you all listen to me and I will help you all survive". Out of fear all the boys nodded to Ralph's speech and were quick to take his side. Soon all the boys were surrounding Ralph waiting for his next order. Ralph thought that if only his dad could see him right now he would be so proud.
- Countless weeks pass and the boys have created their own fruitful community. Every boy has a role in their society and each boy contributes. Still in charge is Ralph, the leader of the boys. He has never felt more confident and has led the group to become a thriving community. He has become an ideal leader and is finally the figure that his father invisioned him to be.
