- As Dre and Selene made their way out of the building, theair outside felt stifling. It wasn’t just the remnants of the tense encounterwith Psycho that hung heavily in the air; it was the unshakable feeling thatsomething much worse was on the horizon. Dre tried to push it out of his mind,but the memory of her crazed eyes and the possessiveness in her voice echoedlike a distant storm, rumbling and threatening to return.
- “Are you sure you’re, okay?” Selene asked again, her voicesoft but probing, as they walked down the deserted street under the dim glow ofstreetlamps. Dre didn’t respond immediately. His thoughts were too occupied,replaying every word Psycho had said.
- “She’s not going to stop, Selene,” he muttered, more tohimself than to her. “Not this time.”

- Dre smiled faintly at his sister’s determination. She hadalways been his protector, despite him being the older sibling. But this wasn’tjust about physical danger. Psycho had a way of getting into people’s heads,and Dre feared she might succeed in ways that could cost him everything.
- Selene frowned, sensing the gravity in his words. She knewDre had a tendency to downplay his emotions, but she could tell when somethingtruly troubled him. “We’ll deal with her, Dre. You’ve gotten through worse.Besides, I’m not going to let her come near you again.”
- “Psycho and I were tight. Like, really close.She wasn’t always like this, you know? The madness, the obsession—it all camelater,” Dre began, his voice low and steady.
- As they reached his car, Dre paused for a moment, his handresting on the handle. “I never told you how we ended things, did I? “Seleneraised an eyebrow. “No, you didn’t. And now’s probably a good time to tell me.”Dresighed, unlocking the car door and sliding into the driver’s seat. Selenejoined him, her eyes waiting expectantly.

- more unhinged she became. She didn’t like the way I handledthings, said I was too calm, too indifferent. She wanted chaos, control. Iwasn’t going to give her that.”
- Selene listened intently, her face growing more serious witheach passing word.
- “You never told me it was that bad,” Selene whispered.“Because I didn’t think she’d go this far,” Dre replied. “But now… I don’tknow. I think she’s more dangerous than ever.”
- “One day, she just snapped,” Dre continued. “She demandedthat I cut off everyone else—family, friends, my team—said they weredistractions. When I refused, she threatened me, saying she’d ruin everythingI’d built. That was the last straw. I had to end it.”
