- I'm not like the others girls. Washing dishes or stuff.
- I just have to take care of my brother, Raymond, which is enough.

- People call my Squeaky and Mercury because of my speed and voice.
- He still beats me there even if he gives me a 2 fire hydrant head start while he whistles with his hands in his pockets.
- You got anything to say to my brother, you say it to me.
- There comes Gretchen with her 2 sidekicks. Gretchen thinks she will win. I was strolling in Broadway practicing my breathing for the May Day race until they showed up.
- What grade are you in Raymond?
- I always win cause I'm the best.
- During the May Day, I was looking real hard for her. The parked was jam-packed. Then I stared to gaze over the park to look for Mr.Pearson. He is easy to spot because he is on Stilts.
- You should lose this time Squeak, so you can give someone a break.
- We used to call him Jack and the bean stalk to get him mad. I was the only one who could out run him. I got mad when he said this.
- My blood was boiling so much that I went to the tracks. My brother came because he knew what was happening. I stared running when I looked over. This is my brothers first run! I almost stopped and watched. He is running in his own style!

- After the race, I looked at Gretchen. This is the first time I actually liked her. Hand on her hip and breathing like a pro.
- We smiled. I asked if she would train Raymond with me and she agreed.
