- This is Adolf Hitler. Born in Austria, he was an aspiring artist (which failed). He was seen as weak by the Austrian army, so during WW1 he volunteered for the Germans. During battle he was awarded an iron cross, but as the soldiers came home to a broken country in a severe depression with a crumbling government, he strived for power and change.
- Germany was in the midst of an economic depression with outrage and political instability throughout. Hitler's anger by the Treaty of Versailles led him into politics. He joined the Nazi party and soon tried to lead a coup in 1923, where his imprisonment followed after this failed, where he wrote his autobiography, "Mein Kampf". When he got out he was appointed chancellor in 1933 and became a fascist dictator over Germany when president Hindenburg died.
- Hitler was a powerful speaker and was able to move people in a way no other could, which helped him gain support. He gave open promises and used fear to stay in power.
- I promise this country will prosper and thrive with me in power! If you disagree there will be consequences but I'm still amazing!
