- Ponyboy was jumped by Socs, one with a hoodie and one with a MADARAS. He was coming from the movies, not too far from home. He was completely unaware of this until after it happened.
- Help me!Help me!
- PONYBOY!
- Have a little bath, greaser!
- Both Ponyboy and the gang went to a drive-in theater, called the Nightly Double. They met two girl Socs, with their drunk boyfriends. The Socs names were called Marcia and Cherry.
- Almost there, Johnny!
- I wonder how were going to get food after our names are in the paper...
- Okay!
- Ponyboy's older brother Darry, yelled at Ponyboy and then Sodapop. Ponyboy got angry, and yelled at Darry. Darry then slapped Ponyboy as he ran off afterwards.
- SAVE THE CHILDREN!
- I know!
- Where are they?
- Ponyboy ran from home. He grabbed Johnny saying that they were going to the park for a walk. They got jumped by Socs not long afterwards, while Ponyboy nearly drowned, and was apprehensive.
- After Johnny killed a Soc in the park, they ran to Dally. After that, they got directions to an abandoned church. They then ran away from their hometown and to the church.
- They were going back to their hometown but then the church went up in flames. They turned back and immediately went to the church. They went in to find some students of a low grade trapped inside.
