- Wow, we don't have to move around anymore now that we can plant the wheat ourselves!
- British Revolution (2nd)
- We can produce more food now than every before on the same plot of land! Rotating crops benefits the soil!
- Green Revolution
- We've developed better crops that can produce more food and have more nutrients!
- Humans learned to domesticate plants and animals, such as wheat, corn, rice, livestock, horses, etc., which allowed them to have a sedentary lifestyle instead of searching for food. This also caused labor specialization because not everyone had to be farmers.
- The British Revolution introduced new farming methods, like the Four Crop Rotation, that made agriculture more efficient. Farms also began to get larger in size. This revolution produced a food surplus, resulting in a population boom. It also helped kickstart the Industrial Revolution.
- In order to prevent famine in developing countries, biotechnologists developed genetically modified crops that could better meet the need of the populations. Less land could be used to produce the same amount of food, and the countries' agricultural export income increased. However, there were also negative effects, like pollution of water supplies because of the chemicals used to help farm.
