- The ghost comes to the castle. Hamlet asks him why he is there. He realize that the ghost is father and that he wants Hamlet to seek revenge on his uncle for murdering him.
- Hamlet and Ophelia are in love. Claudius doesn't want him to be with Ophelia so he plots to kill Hamlet.
- Claudius tells Horatio to use a poisoned sword to have a duel with Hamlet. Ophelia kills herself after going crazy due to the death of Polonius.

- Hamlet realizes that the sword was poisoned and that Horatio was trying to kill him. Claudius tries to hide his guilt in front of the audience when his wife drinks the poison.
- The queen dies and Hamlet is mad and seeks revenge on his uncle. Horatio dies after being cut by the sword. Hamlet goes after Claudius and makes him drink the poison.
- Laertes sees that Hamlet is about to die and the invaders from Norway are bout to arrive. He tries to drink the last bit of poison but Hamlet persuades him not to. He makes Laertes live so he could tell the story of Hamlet
