  • Hurricanes look like spiral of clouds from space and the winds are so loud you cant hear yourself speak. Hurricanes are most likely to occur In the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean and are least likely to occur up north in cold waters
  • At the NHC Aircraft Reconnaissance we collect Hurricane data from Reconnaissance Aircraft and Satellites using key instruments like how the Satellites use 36 spectral brands or waves lengths as they view the Hurricanes 24/7 and the Aircraft use a dropsonde that measures temperature, air pressure, wind and humidity in the atmosphere
  • When a Hurricane strikes a community it leaves an obvious path of destruction. As a result of high winds and water from a storm surge. Homes, businesses, and crops may be destroyed leading to destruction
  • Big hurricanes can effect even small shops with powerful winds and massive surge and they can make a business go out of business
