- How are we suppose to feed our selves?
- yah, while the King still has bread!
- Economic Cause
- And what is the King doing to help?
- Bread prices are so high I can buy any.
- Social Cause
- Why can't we do the same thing as the Americans did?
- Yah, who needs a king anyway?
- How about we keep the king, but make him aware of what happening
- After a few years of bad crops due to droits and floods. The French farmers were dirt poor and didn't have the money or the grain to feed themselves. This led to famine, starvation and abatement of children for the third estate. The king on the other hand had all the grain.
- Political Cause
- Let them eat cake!
- Since there was the famine and grain was scares, bread prices went up so high that people could buy bread. This only led to more starvation and anger. People notice while they were suffering the king was sitting in his palace in Versaille far away from their problems.
- People were getting anger and anger. People were starting to get ideas from the Enlightenment. Then the people created the Nation Assembly. The people those had two different ideas one, to keep the king, but just enlighten him on what was happening. The other side wanted him gone completely. They were really inspired by what the Americans did and wanted freedom too.
- Since the Palace of Versaille was so far away from Paris, the King couldn't see the problem for himself. Now King Louis wanted to help, but had not knowledge of what to do. Instead of trying to find a solution himself he let his advisers take care of it, which they didn't. Since they did nothing to help the people, The people went on with their plan to remove him.
- They say their hungry.
- I see that the people are getting angry what do they want ?
- They don't need anything, but we need more money for parties.
