  • kinetic energy at a constant speed of 50 mph
  • zero crumple zone
  • all kinetic energy lost to the impact and kinetic energy passed on to the car in front. also the breaks have created friction trying to stop and creates thermal energy from kinetic energy and dissipates into the air
  • the front of the car complete squash and risking the driver of being hurt.
  • since its built in the early years, the existence of crumple zones has not yet created and does not have a hard driver hub to protect the driver and the passenger .
  • here we have a old car that has no crumple zones that protect the driver and is moving at a constant speed.its not noticeable, but the wheels are experiencing friction right now against the street. gravity is in act
  • A newer car model, this vehicle has been built to have a crumple zone and has a driver tub to protect the driver and passengers
  • in this example we see how the vehicle fails to stop and hits the car in the front. the old red car losses all the velocity as it hits the car in the front as its transfer to the front vehicle .as we can see, as there is no crumble materials in the front of the old car, it leads to there being less materials to take the force and soften the hit. making the driver to be at risk of being injured
  • as the car tries to stop, the brakes create kinetic to thermal energy.as the vehicle hits the left over kinetic energy is transfer to the one in the front.making the car come to a stop and crumple zones to start reducing the force crested from hitting the car.
  • this vehicle has no crumble parts in the front and is not built to support a hard collision. creating a easily way to die because of it not having a tub to protect the driver and passengers. this vehicle will have a harder time stopping because there is nothing to dissipate the collision and reduce the kinetic energy making the car take longer to stop in a collision.
  • the part you see in the bottom is driver tub, since the car is just a 2 passenger , the protective hub is small but this is a last support that can take the most force and dissipates thought the car.
  • here we have the same scenario, just that we have a car build in the 2015's and has a crumple zone.again not noticeable but the tires are experiencing friction from the street also gravity is in act
  • As the car crashes into the other vehicle, the kinetic energy is passed from one car to the other. the crumple zones in the front of the car start to absorb and dissipates the energy thought the car. helping to reduce the impact before it reaches the driver.
  • most of the kinetic energy is ether turned into thermal by the brakes creating friction to stop the car, or is dissipated into the crumple zone were it is crumpling the part between the front of the car and the driver protective hub. because of the crumple zone, the car has materials to crumple and dissipate the kinetic energy and reducing the amount of time it takes for the car to stop.
