In 1825 Silicon was created. It was created by Jön Jackob Barzelius who was a Swedish chemist. It was created in Stockholm, Sweden. Silicon is a chip. This Silicon chip is what makes computers, smartphones, and smart thermostats able to work. So, without silicon we wouldn't be able to have any of the phones or almost anything technological that we have today.
The Harbor-Bosch process was created in 1909. It was created by Fritz Harbor who was a German chemist. He had help from a couple of friends named Carl Bosch and Robert Le Rossignol.
