Nimer is a 12 year old boy from Gaza. Before the war, Nimer loved playing soccer. He was a normal child helping take care of his family.

One day as he was receiving food aid, he hears planes flying above the city. He was then shot twice by Israeli troops. Scared and in excruciating pain, he was separated from his father.

Their family home was later bombed during an Israeli airstrike. Food became very sparse for everyone. Nimer was the oldest child, he was in charge of feeding the family.

Nimer is sent into surgery due to his injuries. Many children in Gaza are suffering from the war. Every 10 minutes, one child is injured or killed.

Nimer took it upon himself to search for metals throughout the streets for his parents to sell in exchange for food. He would wake up early before school every morning.
I miss my mom and my brothers and sisters, and I worry about them because I'm not there to help gather food for them.

The doctors in Gaza told him that his conditions are beyond their expertise. As Nimer squirms in pain, he wishes to be back with his family as he still remains hospitalized.
