  • Ugh..........
  • Colonial America was established between 1607 and 1733, and it was ruled by the King in Great Brittan. Colonies were settled one by one with permission from the king, in the form of a charter.
  • The Quartering Act
  • General assemblies were elected to make laws by colonists who were white, land-owning men over the age of 21. The colonial government was chosen by the king, and they could overrule assemblies.
  • Boston Massacre
  • The stamp act is yet another act of tyranny that was placed in the colonies by the King. This act stated that all printed items or official documents such as newspapers, letters, and any other printed items were required to have a stamp on them. The colonists were infuriated about this act, so many started boycotting goods as a protest.
  • Declaration of Independence
  • This act of tyranny required the colonists to pay for the housing and feeding of the British troops in the colonies, which were also known as the Redcoats. This was a major sign of cruel British control, also known as Tyranny in the colonies. Colonists resented this act because they thought it was unfair in many ways.
  • Hi Ma'am, I will be staying at you house from now on! You will also feed me!
  • .........?
  • 5 colonists were killed when shots were fired at them in 1770 by the Redcoats. Leading up to this, the colonists were throwing snowballs and rocks at the Redcoats, mad about the Townshend Act. The colonists were very scared of the Redcoats after this massacre.
  • The Declaration of Independence was made to explain the colonists' rights to revolution, and their right to freedom. This was in 1776 when 56 people from different colonies unforcedly signed the Declaration of Independence. It was signed at Independence Hall in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
