Back with Richie and Ella, they saw prairie dogs at their feet, and a city ahead. It was in the middle of a dense forest. Buildings and tree forts were in the city. A few structures were made of glass. Streams were in the middle of sidewalks. Waterfalls cascaded into glass buildings and fell into the lakes below. Many animals lived in this city. A few humans were even there too! Glass tunnels connected everywhere. They were filled with water and carried ocean animals. Doors were everywhere with signs saying sector numbers. A lot of animals started to gain interest in Richie's shoes. A sign hanging from a tree said, " City of Species population: growing".
Eventually, Ella and Richie saw Charlie Red from before. He checked his watch and became angry with himself then he went into a pink curtain that was apparently Sector 17. Suddenly, a gorilla charged at Richie and took his shoes. Richie was confused. He had been robbed. A couple of prairie dogs went to sector 62 and a few stayed behind. Someone said, " That's them!". It was Charlie Red. He was in front of Sector 17 calling for police monkeys with a walkie-talkie. The monkeys looked deadly with sharp teeth. Charlie Red described it as a security breach. Then, the two scouts saw Noah and Blizzard. Those two suddenly ran into the gorilla with Richie's shoes. Everyone was involved in a big mix-up. Poor Podgy was bounding on Blizzard's back. The prairie dogs were chasing Ella and Richie too! They decided to duck behind Sector 13.
A sign behind these two scouts read " NO ADMITTANCE FOR THE UNWINGED". Sector 13 was very gloomy. It was a hallway that ended at a wooden platform. After the platform was nothing but deep fog. Ella thought they were at the end of a cliff. She stopped Richie dead in his tracks. Noah thought it must be the real forest of flight. Ella realized it was a birdcage the size of a football field. But this birdcage did not have a bottom. It was dressed in green ivy. Overhead, Ella saw a glass dome.
