- It began with an Oread who lived on Mount Cithaeron. She had one sibling (Nymphs) and two children (lynx and lambe). Zeus loved beautiful nymphs and visited them often on Earth.

- Zeus's wife, Hera, eventually became suspicious about an affair between her husband and Echo. She wanted to find out for herself if anything was going on.
- Falling Action
- Hera had come from Mount Olympus in attempting to catch Zeus with the nymphs.
- Resolution
- Hera put a curse on Echo for her to only be able to speak the last words spoken to her.
- After the curse, Echo met Narcissus and fell in love with him but was unable to speak her feelings towards him.
- Narcissus rejected Echo and fell in love with himself.
