- The Germany army was forced unconditional surrendered on May 7 and in the east on May 9, 1945. They were surrendered in Berlin by Soviet forces. After Hitler committed suicide Berlin quickly fell to Soviet forces.
- The United States and Soviet Union were friend and foe during World War 2. During World War 2 the US and Soviet Union fought together to win defeat Germany. However through this time neither side really liked each other and only worked together to defeat a bigger enemy.
- The Manhattan project was the code name for the US making atomic weapons. It was used during World War 2. It was started out of fear of German scientist making nuclear weapons.
- The Hiroshima bombing was an attempt make Japan surrender. In which the US dropped an atomic bomb on Japan. However the plan failed and Japan didn't surrender unconditionally.
- The bombing of Nagasaki was the second attempt form the US to force Japan to surrender unconditionally. This attempt succeed after dropping anther atomic bomb.
- Japan surrendered after the US bombed Hiroshima and Nagasaki. This is because the bombs where in cities and killed innocent people. This ended up forcing Japan to unconditional surrender.
