I choose you, Champlain, to lead the expedition to "New France"
In 1603 King Henry chose Champlain to lead a scouting expedition for potential colonization sites in Canada, to create "New France". Champlain also wanted to establish the Fur Trade in Canada.
After two years of studying and mapping Canada, Champlain selected a site on the peninsula of Nova Scotia for settlement. There he founded Port Royal, France's first North American Colony.

Champlain was determined to settle more of Canada, so he sailed North with the help of the Montoya and Algonquian tribes. He explored the St. Lawrence River until he reached another site for colonization.
You are no match for my arquebus!
In 1608 Champlain established Quebec City, New France's second permanentcolony.
Champlain wanted to continue the voyage, so he sailed along the East Coast from Nova Scotia to Cape Cod, mapping the entire course. Next, he headed West into present-day Vermont and New York State. He was guided with the help of the Algonquian Tribe.
In return, Champlain helped them fight the Iriquois, the enemy tribe. At first, the Iriquois were confident, but when Champlain killed their chiefs, they were scared and had no leader.
