Juliana we should go to the church today because it is Sunday and attend the Holy Mass in the afternoon.
After the mass.....
Religion
Let's eat there too!
Mommy, let’s go to Rizal Park because they’re will be a performanceof folk dances from different regions in the Philippines!
Ok let's go.
Art and Literature
Told you, Filipinos are talented in the form of art like folk dances, because in some regions they use it to court somebody and to celebrate.
Wow! What a great performance.
Here are some pasalubong from my parent's house because they found out the reason why you can't meet them because you are busy from work.
This scene shows how polite and respectful the youngerpeople are because she is talking to her mom and that is why she ends her responsewith the use of “po”.
Values
We watched a performance of people dancing folk dances at the Rizak park.
Daddy, mano po.
Where did you go?
Most Filipinos’ religion is Roman Catholic, and it is because of the influence of the Spaniards who brought the religion to the Philippines. And that is why every Sunday Filipinos are recommended to attend the Holy Eucharist.
Economy and Trade
The next day....
Mommy, I want to eat chicken adobo for lunch, can you also teach me how to cook it?
Hey suki. come and buy here I will give you fresh ingredients and a big discount!
It shows how talented Filipinos are and folk dances arepreserved by performing to show the audience the culture of the Philippines through dancing.
Leisure
Juliana, let's start cooking chicken adobo and I will teach you the recipe that your grandma taught me when I was at your age.
Sure mommy, I really love that recipe of grandma since I was a kid. And I am happy that I will get to learn and know the recipe!
After bonding outside, the mother and her children passed by their grandparent’s house. The grandparents told them that they should come infor a second for some light snacks. And before going home their grandma toldthem to bring “pasalubong” for their father knowing that he has been a long daybecause of work. And it shows how hospitable the Filipinos are because theyalways welcome their guests warmly and not allowing for them to leave withoutany takeout or “pasalubong” to bring home.
The mother and her daughter decided to go to the market tobuy some ingredients. And a wet market or what we call “palengke” is a go-toplace if you are on a budget. If you are known for buying every time the vendor, they call you “suki” and will give you big discounts because of it. It is asituation where Filipinos are strategic when it comes to selling and buyingbecause when the vendor gives her buyer a discount they will create arelationship between them, therefore it is an advantage for both since the vendorwill earn from them also the buyer will save some money because of the discounts.
Sure, let's buy the ingredients here in the wet market since they sell here at the lowest price.
The mother and her daughter begin to start cooking using theingredients that they bought from the market. And cooking is a leisure activityfor Filipinos since they love to cook by using recipes that originated from their ancestors and it is also their way of bonding with their family.
