- After finding their magic, other people had started calling them witches, teasing them relentlessly. Finally, aged 16, Victoria and Eliza left the orphanage for a small house in the country, delighted by the peace and quiet.
- They used old second-hand furniture from the attic to renovate the house, and soon it looked good as new. They had rented a house and farm from an old woman using some money they had from work outside of the orphanage chores.
- As soon as possible, they went to town to greet the townsfolk. They tried to make small talk, but it was too late - the rumors had already spread.
- They were worried but tried not to let it bother them. They soon got into their own routine, growing crops in their garden so they didn't need to go to town as often.
- One rainy morning, two bundles appeared on the doorstep. In them was a small baby and a toddler, both sleeping peacefully.
- They discussed for a short while, Victoria arguing to send them to the orphanage, Eliza arguing to keep them. Finally, Victoria gave in and they gently carried both girls onto their bed to keep sleeping.
