This was an agreement made after Missouri requested to be separated from the union and made into a "slave state." But to balance out the impact this would have the government decided to also make Main a "slave free state"
Missouri Compromise May 8, 1820
A rebellion led by Nat Turner and other fugitive slaves. Turner believed that god sent him to make people pay for the sins of slavery. For 36 hours they marched on killing anyone in there way, with having a total of 55-65 killed.

5 Bills that were passed by the government to decide what to do with the land from the Mexican War. The bills were; California is a free state, making it easier to find fugitive slaves for slave owners, made Utah and New Mexico territories and choosing if slavery was allowed depending on what the majority of the population believes in, ending the slave trade to Washington DC, and creating a boundary between Texas and New Mexico,

This was a book written by Harriet Beecher. The book is a historical fiction thats about a slaves and how poorly they were treated, witch brought people mostly in the North to see what slavery truly was.

The Kansas Nebraska Act was made to repeal the Missouri Compromise and allowed people in the territories of Kansas and Nebraska to chose for themselves to have slavery or not, causing both parties to rush there to see the outcome of the first election.

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th president and was elected on November 6th, 1860. Lincoln was part of the Republican Party and wanted to hold the country together before it fell to war. But during his presidency the first battle occurred and Lincoln became a very important player in the war.
