- Hi my names Isabel and I am from Cuba and I was trying to make it to the USA and I made it but it was a really long hard journey
- Hi Isabel. I'm Josef I was from Berlin Germany and trying to get to Cuba but made it to France. Let's go sit down and talk about our storys
- I started in Cuba but was forced to leave my home. I was forced to leave my home because of the very bad and controlling government and very low standards of living. What about you?
- I started in Berlin Germany we were hoping to make it to Cuba but made it to France instead. I was forced to leave my home because of the Holocaust and the Nazis trying to kill of the Jewish people they broke into my house and took my father and when he cam back they had told us we had to leave the country
- I had to act like an adult my whole journey but especially twice. One time my childhood best friend fell into the ocean and got attacked by a shark and died at sea. The other time I had to act like an adult is when my mom gave birth on the boat and i had to take my newborn brother and run through the ocean part of the beach and make it to the USA for my family because the coast guard was coming for us.
- I had to act like an adult a couple of times but especially on the MS St. Louis ship when my father was going crazy with flashbacks from the concentration camps and I had to care for my mother and my sister
