- Spain was catholic and felt they were doing a good job for god by invading England and reinstating Catholicism in England.
- England was helping the Dutch rebels which was supported by Elizabeth. England attacked Spanish ships and stole their gold.
- Sir Francis Drake attacked and burned ships before the invasion
- Bad weather in the English Channel, prevented spanish ships to manueuver.
- The smaller English ships got their chance and attacked the Spanish ships , which fled around Britain back to Spain. The English chases the Spanish around the English Channel for a week.
