The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street Theme: Don't be so quick to judge
In The Monsters Are Due on Maple Street by Rod Serling one of the main themes is 'Don't be so quick to judge'. First reason why this could be a reason, Charlie was blaming Steve for being an alien. The text says Until we get you straightened out you ain't exactly out of suspicion yourself on page 81 act one, this shows how he was quick to judge Charlie was In the story. Second, Charlie shot someone who he didn't know was Pete Van Horn. For example in the story on page 82, act 1 it says Charlie slowly raises the gun, as the figure gets closer he suddenly pulls the trigger . This shows he was quick to judge that the figure was something bad like the monster. Third reason why this could be the theme, the lines Where's the kid-lets get him and Get Steve, get Charlie, they are working together from page 85 act 1, shows how nobody has trust for each other an is against them and is judging them All in all, these are the reasons why the theme is Don't be so quick to judge.
Where's the kid, lets get him!
GET STEVE. GET CHARLIE. THEY ARE WORKING TOGETHER!
Until we get you straightened out, you ain't exactly out of suspicion yourself!
