- The dog is running after the ball. He is demonstrating velocity, because he is moving and changing the position. Acceleration is also being displayed because he is increasing velocity in order to reach the ball.
- As the ball fly's through the air it experiences the force of gravity which will cause it to fall back to the ground. The ball is also experiencing rotational motion and will be affected by centripetal acceleration
- The dogs negative applied force along with the force of friction will cause him to slow down as he reaches the ball
- The dog doesn't know how to swim. So when he gets to the water he lays down. At this point he has a velocity and acceleration of zero. And his position is not changing. This displays newtons first law that an object, in this case being the dog, will remain at rest until a force acts on it.
