- Masterminds: Payback is the third and final book of the Masterminds series, written by Gordon Cameron. It follows 4 kids - Malik, Amber, Eli, and Tori - who are cloned from criminals as an experiment called Project Osiris. They are raised completely secluded from the outside world until they discovered what they were and escaped.

- Malik and Amber, after a close escape from the Purple People Eaters, decide to go see the criminal Malik is cloned from. Malik was going to tell the criminal that they are exact genetic clones, but he ended up chickening out.

- Eli saw a boy on TV that looked exactly like himself. The boy was a movie actor, so Eli and Amber sought him out. They got him to go to a jail to visit Eli's clone, but during the visit, they are told that Eli is actually the clone of an incredibly rich woman who funded the whole experiment. This woman happens to be the actor's great aunt.
- I recommend this book to my peers because it has an exciting plot, it's easy to follow, and it's action-packed. I never felt bored. Once I started the book I could hardly put it down.
- All 4 kids are found by the woman Eli is cloned from, Tamara Dunleavy. She is incredibly rich and offers to let the kids stay with her until they are old enough for college. However, they left many kids behind. They want to go save them, but Tamara doesn't want them to.
- The kids decide to strike it out alone and go to where Project Osiris had relocated after they escaped. They discreetly round up all the kids that they left but are caught. Eli's fake dad, the scientist that was the mind behind the whole experiment, pulls a gun on Eli. Eli winds up unscathed, as a massive manta ray jumped up and crushed the evil scientist.
