Storyboard Tekst

  • Welcome to my dinner party everyone! I am so glad that you all could make the journey! I know all of you, but you may not know each other so let's introduce ourselves. My name is Dylan Chie.
  • I am Thomas Alva Edison, inventor of most notably, the lightbulb.
  • I am George Stephenson, the Father of Railways and I laid the tracks for future railway engineers.
  • I'm Elon Musk, CEO of SpaceX, Tesla, and Twitter.
  • How have you trapped that blue bird in that black box you have there?!
  • (This will be a problem) Don't worry George, it is a picture of a bird on an electronic screen.
  • Ah yes! A condensed version of my phonograph! Tell me, does it play sound too?
  • Indeed! It's similar to a phonograph. It takes pictures and records video and sound.
  • My kinetograph camera as well! I really am a generational genius!
  • Even my railroads wouldn't be able to support your large ego.
  • WHY YOU...
  • All right, calm down everyone. I'm going to the dining hall to get our food. Thomas, maybe you can enlighten everyone with a story then George can continue that train of thought. Elon, try not to take off.
  • Well if you're so great then tell us about those railways of yours.
  • Very well.
  • It all started in 1814 when I built my first locomotive, the Blücher, by the Wylam Colliery. The Blücher was able to pull 30 tons of coal up a hill at 4mph. Then 6 years later, I built the first fully steam-powered railway that sat on an 8 mile track.
  • Soon after that, in 1822 my son and I started "Robert Stevenson Co." to build locomotives to transfer coal across a 25 mile Stockton and Darlington railway. The railway opened in 1825 with the "Locomotion" traveling at speeds up to 24mph while carrying 80 tons of coal.
  • I went on to create many more railways such as the Liverpool and Manchester railway! I even worked on the early locomotives for your United States. I was a crucial part of the evolution of Britain and its railways.
  • That is why people call me "The Father of Railways". I helped Britain into a new era of steam locomotives.
  • Is that all? Honestly just one of my inventions can blow your trains off their tracks.
  • Oh? And what would that be?
  • The light bulb of course! Using a carbonized cotton thread as a filament inside a glass vacuum bulb, I applied voltage which set off a glow of light that lasted for 15 hours. The more I experimented, the longer the light lasted.
  • I have also accumulated a grand number of 1,093 patents for many of my inventions. Some being the automatic telegraph which made it faster to transmit longer messages. The alkaline storage battery which was used for early electric cars and submarines. Not to mention the carbon telephone transmitter that improved Alexander Bell's telephone by ten fold.
  • But what I am most proud of is how I persevered through all the hardships and setbacks I experienced while creating my inventions. While people look at it as 1,000 failed attempts of creating the light bulb, I looked at it as having 1,000 steps.
  • Mph! maybe there are some truth to your words.
  • Yes, I do believe Mr. Edison was one of the worlds greatest inventors, until I came along that is. His inventions shaped society into what it is today.
  • Lots of food
  • Alright I'm back with food!
  • Everyone dig in! I hope you enjoy!
  • By the way Elon, what is it like owning Twitter?
  • It is great! I believe we can make big changes and make Twitter a place where everyone can socialize more freely.
  • Interesting. How do you get to this Twitter place? Can we take my train?
  • (Laughing) Twitter is a social media website where individuals can interact with each other all over the globe without leaving their homes.
  • Fascinating! Its like the telegraph but much more advanced!
  • Yes, it is one of the most popular messaging apps in the world and has the power to inform people of daily news with the click of a button.
  • Wow! You seem light -years ahead of my time!
  • Now stay on track, we are talking cars now. I helped electric cars become more mainstream through my company, Tesla, and improved the already environmental friendly cars. The launching of Tesla's Model S received the highest ever consumer rating of 99/100.
  • In 2002 I founded SpaceX to revolutionize space travel and technology and to eventually inhabit other planets. We have made large strides such as creating reusable thrusters that result in less pollution and less expensive rockets. We were even able to launch our rocket, the "Falcon 9" and make it the first to ever have an orbital rocket land back on a pad.
  • I am also the CEO of Neuralink. Our mission is to connect human brains with computers. We believe this brain chip could help people who are paralyzed or are suffering from neurological issues. Neuralink would also be able to help people with OCD and could even play music right into your brain.
  • You have made astronomical strides! All those accomplishments in a short amount of time is...well...out of this world!
  • Blimey! I'm star struck!
  • Both of your inventions and innovations are what made this world how it is today. You both helped society move forward in time.
  • Well this has been insightful as well as delightful, but I believe it is time to head home.
  • Yes, I must retire as well, I do have a couple centuries to travel.
  • Thank you for having us Dylan, the night was...tweet-worthy.
  • I'm glad you all enjoyed yourselves. I want to thank you all for your contributions. As you can see, learning form the past can only help create a better future. Now I must get to bed, I have an 8 am class at Albright tomorrow.
