  • Have I ever told you about what food could do for you?
  • No, I don't remember that.
  • I'm telling you anyways. Nutrition comes in things like milk, steak, and even bugs. This means that bugs are actually healthy.
  • It helps your body stay awake, in other words, giving you energy. Nutrition is essential for life.
  • I also heard that there are different types of food groups that provide different things for your body.
  • Yeah I was surprised when I first heard about it too.
  • Exactly. There are 5 different categories of food that should be on your plate at dinner: protein, dairy, vegetables, fruit, and grain. All of these things do different things for your body.
  • WOW! I wasn't told there were FIVE!
  • Dairy products are the things that make your bones as strong as they are. Grains help you feel full and healthy. They also help with maintaining good body weight.
  • Fruit is an incredible way to get essential vitamins and minerals. They also boost your health
  • Protein, like steak, is helpful to heal bones and muscles. The last food group is the vegetables, and they help with the lowering of your blood pressure.
  • It is indeed. So what are you going to go do now?
  • Wow! I didn't know that all of these different food groups helped with different parts of your body! That's awesome!
  • That's a great idea. Have fun, and I'll see you later.
  • She's not going to do any of those things.
  • I'm going to go and tell my friends about this! And then when I get home, I'm going to eat a healthy dinner with all the food groups!!
